Long tail keywords have been used by experts offering SEO services for a while now and it still work. If used correctly, it can be a very powerful way to leverage search traffic.

What are long tail keywords?

Long tail keywords are keyword phrases that are longer and very specific to what you are selling as they are more focused on a niche. For example, you sell kids sneakers, and your primary keyword is kids sneakers. There will be other phrases that have your primary keyword on it that still has search volume.

Why are these long tail keywords so valuable?

Long tail keywords are much easier to rank than short tail keywords because of the low competition.

Better conversion rate.

It has better conversion rates because people who use long tail keywords know what they want. For example, when a person searches for kids sneakers online that person is most likely to purchase one for their kid rather than a person who searched for kids sneakers.

Increases chance of your content being seen.

Whenever someone searches for a long tail keyword the results of Google search is more defined.
